AER-AID LAUNCHES IN USA
In September, SISIS dealers and Independent Representatives from as far afield as Arizona,Nebraska, Texas, Florida and New York travelled to Clemson for the launch of the SISIS AER-AID SYSTEM on to the USA market, and to see a demonstration of the recently introduced SISIS OSCA Oscillating Brush.
The day started at the Madren Center, on the shores of beautiful Lake Hartwell, with a presentation by Mike Eschols, Superintendent of Athletic Grounds for Clemson University, describing his use of the SISIS OSCA brush on synthetic sand/crumb rubber filled fields. Then on to the “CAT bus” (Clemson Area Transport) – GO TIGERS! –and off to the new American football practice field where Mike demonstrated how he uses the OSCA. It takes approx an hour to brush the whole field using the OSCA, and Mike stressed “Don’t think of it as just a special brush for synthetics – use it on natural turf areas as well”.
Back at the Madren Center we were delighted to have as our guest speaker Martyn Jones of the UK’s National Turfgrass Foundation and whose subject was “Achieving Effective Soil Aeration” Martyn challenged us all to reconsider the definition of soil aeration and to examine whether or not machines aerate the soil or not?
Andy Walker, Product Evaluation Manager from UK parent company, SISIS Equipment (Macclesfield) Ltd, gave an excellent technical presentation on the AER-AID followed by a practical demonstration of the system at work on the research turf plots. At Martyn Jones’suggestion, two cup holder holes were cut and air could be seen passing laterally through the soil.
The following day was “Customer Day” and again many delegates had travelled considerable distances to see the new AER-Aid SYSTEM in action for the first time
